Year-round sunshine without heatstroke!
Southeast Crete has a climate ideal for comfortable living and outdoor activities that even Southern Spain would envy.
It is officially the sunniest, bluest sky part of Europe. Yet temperatures rarely feel too hot because of the cooling sea breezes. Rain and grey sky days are rare and typically rain is only for a couple of hours - and water temperatures are warmer than the western Med (Spain, Portugal, South of France, etc.).

A Sea of Purity and Gentleness
The sea off southeast Crete is amongst the most pure you can find. Blue flag status is the norm, not the exception.
Low population, no industry, very little commercial shipping and large distances from any other land masses all contribute to keeping amazing water clarity and freedom from pollution.
Sandy beaches shelve very gently – you can walk out over a 100m before you even get neck height – and the water temperature is delightfull for most of the year.
